Trending Tuesday: Marsala

Tuesdays this year will be all about trends. What is trending in the world from fashion to pop culture to the news.

This weeks trend is the Pantone Color of the Year: Marsala. We have got to tell you we are loving this color. It is so rich and makes us want to have a glass of wine. Here are a few of our favorite things in Marsala.

The Jewels

We just adore our Quinn necklace and it has color of the year written all over it! The Olive earrings compliment the Quinn phenomenally too!

The Style

Check out this awesome jacket, it is great for the cooler weather!

The Lips

Could you have a stronger lip color than this? It’s a fabulous color to show the fierceness inside. NARS has a great choice and it lasts!

The Nails

The cool weather and Valentine’s Day around the corner, what a perfect time of year to have a rich red on your nails. We love any and all OPI colors and their Lost on Lombard matched the color of the year perfectly.

The Florals

Okay men, stop by your local flower shop and pick up some of these peonies for your lady because what woman wouldn’t love to have a bouquet of these on the table?

The Sweets

Pick yourself up some of these treats and pretend your sitting at a cafe in the city of light!

Oscar Delights

One night a year the lovely women and dashing men of Hollywood gather together to celebrate the greats in the industry. The Oscars is not only a night of awards, it is a night of dazzling fashion. Trends spotted at this years awards were lots of neutrals and glistening sparkle. Best Actress winner Jennifer Lawrence was glowing in a white bride-like beauty, courtesy of Dior Haute Couture as well as some of her fellow nominees who also opted for a neutral color palette.

Oscar DressesThese leading ladies were definitely looking flawless, but one thing that caught our eye at the Oscar’s was the bright pops of color. We took colorful inspiration from a few of the actresses from the Red Carpet and paired it with a more everyday look with a pair of our new Spring earrings to match.

To start it off we have Jennifer Garner whom all of us here at LJ just love, love, love! We love her even more in this Gucci Raspberry colored dress posed alongside her Oscar winning beau Ben Affleck.

Oscar StyleDress, Carol Earrings

The LJ take on this is a Magenta toned shorter cut dress with similar frills. Tie in the belt with a elegant dark toned earring such as our Carol earring made with a dark brown pyrite to top off the look.

Reese, always stunning, always timeless, and now gorgeous in this Cobalt Blue Louis Vuitton.

Blue Dress, Reese Earring

We were so inspired by the vibrant hue Reese choose this year, and by her usual sweet sophisticated style that we dubbed our new Reese Earring after her. Pair this earring with a asymmetrical cut short dress in the same cobalt blue to achieve a look even Reese would be excited about. The gray pearl of the earrings will play off the cool blue hues of the dress to give it a blue shade to pair even better with the ensemble.

Kerry Washington this year not only has shined in her performances on screen, but is glowing so gracefully in this coral Miu Miu.

Oscar Style3Coral Dress, Laci Earring

Coral is always such a fabulous color for the Spring and Summer season and Kerry pulled this off very well. Pairing a fun, short, high waisted dress with a solid gold, sassy earring like our Laci can give you a great Summer night on the town look.

Which pairing is your favorite? Who would you give the Best Dressed Award to at this years Oscars?

P.S. Don’t miss our Spring Collection Launch March 22nd!

Seeing Red

LJ here finally back to blogging after a little bit of a hiatus. 2012 was an exciting year and we are ready for an even better 2013!

We are inspired by Hollywood’s young stars on the red carpet at this years Golden Globe Awards.  Zooey and Jennifer were looking red hot and elegant.  Not only is this a fabulous color at the moment, but it reminds us that Valentine’s day is right around the corner.  Here at LJ we put together a couple of ideas to give you some ideas for your special night out!

Ladies in RedZooey Deschanel, Claudia Necklace, White Clutch, White Heels, Red Dress, Tina Earrings, Black Clutch, Black Heels, Jennifer Lawrence

For your Valentine’s date night go classic and cute like Zooey Deschanel with white pearls and accessories to match, or go sexy and simple like Jennifer Lawrence fiery hot with fabulous dangles. Whatever your Valentine’s Day plans may be don’t be afraid to conquer the red and take on the night!

How will you wear your red this Valentine’s Day?

A Winter-White Fall

So says the age old rule, “You can’t wear white after Labor Day.” Well I’m sure any of today’s top designers would gladly disagree. For the Fall season you may think darks, reds, or oranges, but one top fashion this year is head-to-toe white. The winter-white out look was spotted all over the runways at the NY Fall Fashion shows, and will be seen on women all over once the cooler season rolls around. So lets white it out starting with our ears all the way down to our toes!

Cynthia Rowley, FlowerBlouse, Jeans, Clutch, Heels, Nail Polish, Coin Pearl Earrings, Emma Necklace, Jordan Bracelet

We love things crisp, clean and white here at LJ so we are loving the ladylike white looks of Fall like the one seen above at the Cynthia Rowley show during New York Fashion Week. We mixed up hues of white to make a great Fall look with a casual, yet dressy feel. You can also play up any outfit with jewels in tones of white, whether it be pearls or white coral such as our Emma Necklace. This year after Labor Day put the old age saying aside and proudly wear your whites!

How do you like to wear your whites?

Bright is the New Black

If the hot summer heat has not already given you a sunnier disposition, then look to your wardrobe for help. The summer trends this year involve lots of bright splashes of color, lace, and floral prints. As some might say this season, “Bright is the New Black!” So hop into some of this year’s fun summer fashion, and don’t worry LJ will help supply the jewels.

We are smitten with bold and bright striking neon colors and love to dress them up with complimentary jewels. On the other hand you may prefer a more feminine style with darker contrasted jewels against coral and floral prints. Either way you are sure to turn some heads on your adventures this summer if you stick to the bold and fabulous trends of the season. Great earrings are always a must even in the summer heat, but grab a bracelet or two to layer up for a little bit of arm candy. So keep it cool this summer… in color!

What are your favorite color trends of the season?

Feelin’ Beachy Keen

Summer 2012 has begun to creep up on us and what would a steamy summer be without some marvelous seaside fashion! Women throughout history are no stranger to being completely fabulous even when stripped down to their bathing suits, so why should this year be any different?

Vintage Style

From vintage to new age there are tons of hot styles that will be seen all over your local beach, lake, or pool this year. And but of course who would we be here at LJ if we didn’t add some delightful dangles to go with your summer look. When hitting the water this season we are thinking its best to top off any suit with a gorgeous pair of earrings.

Sophia Boyleg Maillot, Bridget, Avery, Monokini Yellow

The best part about your swimwear style you can mix and match how you please. If you feel more comfortable in a one piece than two you can go for a classic vintage look, or go the route of a monokini or tankini mixing and matching your top and bottom as you please.

Halter Bikini, Eileen, Molly, Crochet String Bikini

Brightly colored or patterned two pieces are all the rage. You can buy even just a few bikinis, mix and match them, and create multiple looks with mixed hues, polka-dots, stripes or other patterns. The sky is the limit and the more fun you have with it the better!

LJ wants you to remember whatever age or size you may be, OWN your look!  Be confident and bold in your swimwear fashion and don’t be afraid to take chances. Also keep in mind all of your other favorite accessories like wedges, sunglasses and cover ups to complete your beach fashionista look.

What is your swimsuit style? How will you accessorize with your swimwear fashion this summer?

Oscar Party

With the glitz and the glamor, the Academy Awards can leave us feeling starstruck year after year. Some of us dream of one day getting to step foot on that stage accepting our very own Oscar, others just dreaming of the fabulous dresses and jewels we see on our favorite celeb. Either way the Oscar’s give us reason to celebrate!

Pop Open the Champagne

Odds are the majority of us will not be attending any parties as lavish as the Oscar’s, but that does not mean we cannot take inspiration from the styles we saw from this years show. We have found semi-formal dresses that pair well with some of the evening gowns we saw from Sunday night and added our favorite Liz James jewels to compliment each dress. Most of the jewels that were adorned by the ladies of the Oscar’s were embellished with diamonds. Our specialty here at Liz James however is pearls. Still as timeless as the diamond, yet a bit more versatile, you can wear your pearls for a casual BBQ or a stylish cocktail party. And of course to polish of any outfit don’t forget the perfect pair of shoes and purse of your choice!

Michelle Williams left the audience in awe with her coral chiffon Louis Vuitton dress. A shorter version of this dress still consists of a sweetheart neckline emphasized by a tiered style skirt. Wear a Claudia Gray and White doubled to give a layered, classic pearl look.

Natalie Portman sported a red polka dot 1954 Christian Dior Haute Couture vintage gown. This fun and flirty less formal pick with the flowing sleeves will leave you fluttering around the room like the social butterfly that you are. With the higher neckline a Dianna Coin Pearl drop earring will suit rather than a chunky necklace. Top it off with a dainty Caroline Bracelet.

Penelope Cruz graced the red carpet in an organza Giorgio Armani off-the-shoulder gown. The more casual look to match is shown with the off-the-shoulder style of a pleated boat neckline, and a fitted waistline. Get a layered look with a white and gray Norah necklace or wear them individually for more subtlety. These two necklaces can also be worn doubled to appear short, or long.

Michelle Rodriguez was spotted at the Vanity Fair after party in a sleek, lady like black lace ensemble. Wearing the black lace with the underlining champagne combination will leave you feeling sexy and fearless at any event. This pick by Michelle this year deserves none other than the Michelle necklace. This can be worn long or doubled, but will hang perfectly over the bust of the sweetheart neckline when doubled.
